My blog today is being written from the rooftop terrace of Wetherspoons promenade pub as I am enjoying the last few days of sunshine before I swap my colourful summertime outfits for my wooly winter wardrobe!
I have had a little gap since starting this blog, partly due illness and partly to do with starting the launch of my new product which will go alongside my wedding and event planning company.
I will come back to my New York diary as I am having lots of fun writing it but for now I am concentrating on my new venture!
I am always trying to come up with new ideas to keep my business fresh and exciting and this time I took my inspiration from a New York party planner who offers a full party planning service in a box, she provides everything you need to plan and host the perfect party.
After a LOT of research and a little injection of my personality and expertise I am now ready to launch my own take on Party In A Box here in the UK.
Each box will contain everything you could possibly need to plan host a wonderful party, including décor, tableware and serving equipment.
The list of themes is endless and can cater to any child or adult theme.
I am currently playing around with wedding themes (well it is my forte!) I’ve got a Wedding Planner in A Box, Hen Party in A Box and Stag Do in a Box!!
Each box will contain a party planning guide, written and published by me with photos and illustrations from some lovely guys I came across on that wonderful thing we call the World Wide Web! You will meet them sometime in the near future.
I have included lots of hints and tips on planning the perfect party (in the USA they call it a Party Blueprint!) along with lots of recipes and cost saving tips. My aim is to prove it doesn’t have to cost the earth to throw a good party.
I will be having a launch party in November (just in time for all those Christmas and new year party boxes!) where they will be lots of free drink and food whilst I unashamedly promote my business!
I am almost ready to send out my prototypes for review to some fabulous ladies.
Through the magic of Twitter I found some lovely fellow bloggers who will shortly be receiving Party In A Box in the form of “Cocktails and Canapes” and “Afternoon Tea at The Ritz”
I must say I am really enjoying this new Twitter/Blogging world I have joined, I love how friendly and appreciative people are and now I’ve got my mojo back I will definitely become more involved in this world.
When planning my new venture I looked into many different ways of getting a cash injection to invest into putting together the prototypes and publishing my book.
Whilst trawling the internet I came across a site called http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk.
I looked into it with a bit of scepticism but I actually found it to be a really good concept so I’ve ended up giving it a go.
Absolutely anyone can use it from charities to community projects, individuals to new or established businesses.
You basically tell your story, pitching your idea and if people like it they will pledge money towards your project.
In return for a pledge you can offer rewards, which vary from a Thank you across social media to a sample of a product from the project.
My rewards range from a £10 voucher to redeem against a box right up to a full wedding and event package for 100 people.
Its a very interesting site as there are some very bespoke businesses and projects and for a small pledge you could end up with a new and interesting project not found in your average high street shop.
I urge you all to take a look and even if you don’t pledge on my project you might just have your head turned by a small up and coming business or a worthy community project worth supporting.
If you take a look and you like my project anyone who makes a pledge after reading this blog will not only receive a £20 voucher but also a full Halloween in a Box worth at least £35 as well as an invite to our launch night where you will receive a discount off the Christmas and new year boxes.
Just put Blog2015 in the comments box when you pledge and I will do the rest!
I’m looking forward to building my business through social media, but I am also looking forward to getting to know everyone in the blogging world. There seems to be a lot of really lovely people out there who not only support each other but have lots of fun!
I often get distracted checking on my Twitter feed and clicking on all the blog updates! More self control is needed…..having said that I’ve just ordered a cold white wine to celebrate this glorious September weather so I will say Bye for now and speak to all soon!!
